Yeah, but isn't he kind of concentrating on the wrong things? I mean, Java supports recursion (even if they don't teach it), and as a programmer, I find that there's usually a better way to solve those types of problems, especially in a language like C, where you don't have tail-call optimization.

Anyways, I think you could use concurrency as a new standard of something that some people just don't get, with the added bonus of having it be (more likely to be) useful to know in your everyday job.
